Family and friends please consider becoming a virtual walker if you can't make it in person, by supporting my page with a donation in any amount that you can. The journey to wellness can be a rough and lonely road, but together we can make someone's battle conquerable. For those of you who are not familiar with the autoimmune disease that I have, it's a very rare condition called Neuro-Sarcoidosis.
Some of you are familiar with Sarcoidosis which causes granulomas to grow in the body, typically presenting in the lungs. I have the rarest form affecting my brain and spine, one of the complications is hydrocephalus, which I developed in 2010 and preceded to have an emergency external shunt implanted to relieve the intracranial pressure. I underwent five brain surgeries in four years, and thankfully, I continue to defy the odds.
No one knows what the future holds, but for those of us fighting these illnesses, this type of fundraising event gives us hope for a brighter future...
Thank you for visiting my Autoimmune Walk personal fundraising page!
I am excited to be supporting AARDA through the Autoimmune Walk. More than 50 million Americans suffer from autoimmune diseases. That's 1 out of every 5 people in the United States! The Autoimmune Walk is one of AARDA's efforts to bring together families impacted by autoimmune disease to raise much-needed funding and awareness -- because together we can accomplish far more than any of us can on our own.
Please register to walk with me OR make a donation to help me reach my goal!
