More than 50 million Americans suffer from autoimmune diseases. 1 out of every 6 people in the US. The Autoimmune Walk is an effort to bring together families impacted by autoimmune disease to raise much-needed funding and awareness... Because together we can accomplish far more than any of us can on our own.
In October of 2011, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. It's a rare form called autoimmune hepatitis and it causes my body to attack my liver. Untreated I would go into liver failure. Since I was diagnosed, my life and the way I used to live has change a lot. Having a life with medicines, side effects, doctors appointments, worry, and illness is something no one should have to go through.
